In this shiur we explore a small Tosafos which seems to be making a minor point and show how it connects to Tosafos general shittah in bein hashmashos (the famous shittah 72 minutes of Rabbeinu Tam). We also explain Rashi's position in contrast to Tosafos.
In this shiur we connect Tosafos of Daf 2b to Tosafos on Daf 2a. Tosafos hold that when we speak about zman of krias shema in the evening it is the same as the zman of maariv and this leads to multiple problems that Tosafos is forced to address. If you divide the zman of shema from the zman of tefillas maariv, there is no issue.
This shiur focuses mainly on Tosafos Daf 2b d"h dilma. Tosafos asks a number of strong questions on Rashi's position which we attempt to answer. The shiur also touches on the girsa of the geonim/Rambam in the Gemara and the famous explanation of the Gra which ties into the Gra's position on defining Bein Hashmashos.
